A timeline of events for Alana’s Caring Cakes

December 2020 – Alana’s cook book ‘Cakes to Make you Smile From the Heart of Sheffield’ was published, with all money raised being donated to the Sheffield Hospitals Charity.
October 2020 – Alana’s second Kindness in the community week was ran virtually.
September 2020 – Alana made her first presentation on Girls with Autism at the South Yorkshire Autism Fayre.
August 2020 – The Friendly Bench was officially opened by Cllr Dominic Beck, Alexander Stafford MP and Wales High School Mental Health Ambassadors.


August 2020– Alana began presenting her weekly radio show ‘Alana’s Antics’ on Red Road FM.
July 2020 – Alana received a Diana award, Alana attended a virtual awards ceremony due to the ongoing pandemic.

May 2020– Alana was shortlisted for a National Diversity Award.
April 2020 – Work began on the Alana’s Caring Cakes cook book, with local people, family and friends sending in recipes.


March 2020– Alana delivered her final cakes before the UK went into lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Alana was unable to deliver cakes to people as a result of the pandemic.

February 2020 – Alana received a District Commander’s Commendation Award from Chief Superintendent Una Jennings.
January 2020 – Alana received confirmation that Kiveton Park would have the first Friendly Bench in Yorkshire installed.
January 2020 – Kiveton by the Sea themed 3rd Birthday Party.
December 2019 – Alana supported the local group ‘Kindness and Co’ in providing a Christmas Lunch to people who would have been alone at Christmas otherwise.

November 2019– Alana received a Rotherham Community Achievement Award for being a young volunteer in her local community.

October 2019 – Alana ran her first Kindness in the Community week, with a focus on looking after yourself, others and the community. There were several events in this week including a kindness fair, a community sing and a wellbeing walk.






August 2019 – Alana worked with Kindness and Co to deliver wellbeing bags to all year 7’s at Wales High School and Dinnington High School.
May 2019
Alana delivered a cake to Tony Foulds, contributor of the Mi Amigo commemorative garden based in Endcliffe Park, creating a new friendship that has continued to grow.


Alana received a Rotary Young Citizen Award for her delivering cakes for free to people going through a tough time.
January 2019 – Alana’s Caring Cakes celebrated a 2nd birthday and by this point, Alana had delivered cakes to 71 people! The theme of this party was ‘Around the World’, £500 was raised at this event and that put the overall total raised for ‘Therapy for Daisy’ to over £2000!
27th January 2018 – Alana’s Caring Cakes turned One! Alana organised a fundraiser birthday party, the Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham came along and everybody who had received a cake in the previous year got a Golden Ticket invite!
June 2017 – Alana and Scarlett ran their annual cake stall yet again, raising funds this time for the Manchester Arena funds, Therapy for Daisy and Taylor Dobbs, another young girl in the village going through regular treatments for Cerebral Palsy.

29th January 2017 – The first monthly cake was delivered to Margaret Jarvis who was nominated by a number of people in the local community, this cake brought a huge smile to Margaret’s face, just what Alana set out to achieve. Monthly deliveries continued from here.
January 2017 – Alana’s Caring Cakes was born!

June 2016 – Alana was joined at her now annual cake stall by her best friend Scarlett, who remains a regular in helping.
June 2015 – Alana started raising money for ‘Therapy for Daisy’, a young girl in Alana’s village who was born with cerebral palsy. She undergoes regular treatment and physio, so any money raised helps to fund this.
August 2014 – Alana hosted her first charity cake stall, raising money for ‘Bluebell Wood’ and ‘Alzheimer’s Society’ – two charities still very close to Alana’s heart. She raised £294.20.
